You've been watching that hair grow since day one. The newborn fuzz, the first little curls, the wispy bits you kept pushing out of their eyes. And now here you are, ready for the first cut. It's a bigger moment than most people expect. At Bubble Cuts Studio City we've done hundreds of first haircuts, and we treat every single one like the milestone it is.

What Makes a 1st Kid's Haircut Different

A first haircut isn't just a haircut. The child has never experienced this before. They don't know what's coming, they don't know the person holding the scissors, and they're sitting in a chair that's new and unfamiliar. That's a lot for a little person to process.

What makes it go well is the environment and the stylist. A calm room, a fun chair, something to look at, and a stylist who takes their time and never makes a sudden move without warning. We introduce every tool before it comes near your child. We go at their pace completely. If they need a few minutes to warm up, we give them that time. If they need a parent holding their hand the whole way through, that's fine too.

Most first haircuts go better than parents expect. Kids surprise you. And even when it's a little bumpy, our stylists know how to keep things moving without making it worse.

Our Kids First Haircut Package in Studio City

Our First Haircut Package at Bubble Cuts Studio City includes everything you need to make this moment special. Your child gets a gentle cut by one of our most experienced and patient stylists. After the cut you receive a keepsake certificate with your child's name and the date, a lock of hair to keep, and a photo to remember the moment.

We welcome first haircuts starting at 6 months old. Some babies come in at 7 months with a full head of hair that's ready for a trim. Others wait until 18 months or later. There's no right or wrong time. If you're not sure whether your child is ready, text or call us and we'll help you figure it out.

The package starts at $45.

First Haircuts for Studio City Families

Studio City families have been bringing their babies to Bubble Cuts on Ventura Blvd since we opened in 2022. We're right in the heart of the neighborhood with free onsite parking, which makes the whole trip a lot easier when you're wrangling a baby and a camera and a very excited grandparent. Families come to us from Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Toluca Lake, Valley Village, and North Hollywood for first haircuts because they want the experience done right, not rushed through at a salon that wasn't built for kids.

What to Expect at Your First Haircut Appointment

Book online or call us at (323) 593-2931. We recommend booking ahead for this one rather than walking in so we can set aside the right amount of time and make it count. We also recommend booking an early morning slot when the salon is quieter and the energy is calmer. It makes a real difference for babies and toddlers who are easily overstimulated.

When you arrive your child picks their chair. Tractor, fire truck, unicorn, whatever catches their eye first. The stylist introduces themselves, crouches down to their level, and takes a few minutes to let your child get comfortable before anything starts. No rushing into it.

The cut itself is gentle and precise. We work with whatever length your child has and make sure the result looks intentional and clean. After the cut we present the keepsake certificate, the lock of hair, and take the photo. Everyone gets a balloon on the way out.

The whole appointment typically takes between 20 and 40 minutes. We build extra time into first haircut appointments because we never know how a child will respond, and we'd rather have too much time than not enough.
