There's a difference between a few knots after bath time and hair that's been tangled for weeks and has started to mat together. The first kind you can usually work through at home with the right brush and a detangling spray. The second kind needs a professional. Trying to force it out at home risks breaking the hair, hurting your child, and turning what was already a stressful situation into a much worse one.
The most common reason kids end up with severely tangled hair is that brushing became a fight and it got avoided. It happens in a lot of families and there's nothing to be embarrassed about. Our stylists have seen it many times and they approach it the same way every time ,methodically, section by section, with products that actually work, and at a pace the child can handle.

Detangling is priced by time and tangle level, which is why we ask you to text us a photo before you come in. It lets us assess what we're working with, have the right products ready, and give you an honest estimate so there are no surprises when you arrive. We use kid-safe detangling products throughout and work from the ends up, never root to tip, which is what causes breakage.
If the hair has matted to the point where detangling would cause more damage than it fixes, we'll tell you honestly and talk through the options. We'd rather have that conversation upfront than get halfway through and hit a wall.

Text a photo to (323) 593-2931 before you book so we can prepare properly. When you arrive your child picks their chair and something to watch on screen. The stylist walks through what they're going to do before starting.
We work slowly and take breaks whenever the child needs one. If a detangling session turns into a full cut as well, we can handle both in the same visit, just let us know.
